Standard or High Quality? PNG or JPEG? A Fast Guide

Every generation on Fellowi Images asks you to pick four things: quality, format, aspect ratio, and then your prompt. The first three take five seconds if you know what each one actually changes. Here's the short version.

Standard or High quality

Standard renders at roughly 1.5K resolution and costs 40 coins. High quality renders at 2K and costs 60 - twenty coins more for meaningfully more detail.

Pick Standard when:

• It's going on a social post, a chat, or a phone screen at normal size
• You're testing a prompt idea and might regenerate it anyway
• You just want to see the concept before committing more coins to it

Pick High quality when:

• You're printing it, or it's going on a desktop wallpaper
• It's a final version you'll keep and revisit, not a draft
• You plan to crop or zoom into part of the image later

If you're not sure which bucket you're in, start with Standard. Twenty coins is cheap enough to regenerate at High quality once you know the prompt is right - it's a worse trade to spend 60 coins on a first attempt you end up rewriting anyway.

PNG or JPEG

PNG is lossless - nothing is thrown away, so it's the safer choice for anything you'll edit further, layer into other artwork, or print. The tradeoff is file size: a PNG is noticeably larger than a JPEG of the same image.

JPEG compresses the image, so the file is smaller and easier to share, upload, or attach somewhere with a size limit. For most everyday uses - a wallpaper, a social post, a quick share - the compression is not something you'll notice by eye. Reach for PNG specifically when you know the image is going to be edited, printed, or reused as a base for something else; reach for JPEG everywhere else.

Aspect ratio: pick it, or let Auto decide

Fellowi Images offers fifteen aspect ratios, from tight squares to tall portraits to wide landscapes and ultra-wide banners. If you already know where the image is going - a phone wallpaper, a banner for a page, a square for a profile - set the ratio yourself, since it's one less crop you'll need to do afterward. If you don't know yet, or the prompt itself suggests a natural shape (a full-body portrait wants height, a landscape wants width), Auto is a perfectly reasonable default and lets the model choose for you.

Put together

A quick concept sketch: Standard, JPEG, Auto. A wallpaper you'll actually use for months: High quality, PNG or JPEG depending on whether you'll edit it further, and the aspect ratio matched to your screen. There's no wrong combination - just one that matches what you're actually going to do with the picture.
