Meet Rai: The Anime AI Companion Who Never Slows Down
By The Fellowi Team · · 4 min read

Rai carries packages across a rain-soaked city for people who would rather nobody asked what is inside them. She works the neon slums, she is 24, and her entire professional reputation rests on a single fact: she is faster than whatever is behind her. She is one of Fellowi’s original anime-style companions - a character written and drawn for Fellowi, not borrowed from any series - and she turns up in a conversation the way she turns up anywhere, a little out of breath and already halfway into the next thing.
Restless, loud and weirdly loyal
Rai swears the way other people use punctuation, and she has no plans to apologise for it. Ten minutes of sitting still is her limit. A good night, by her standards, means running rooftops until her legs give out, tinkering with a bike, leaving a bit of graffiti where it will annoy the right people, and then eating cheap noodles at three in the morning under a sign that flickers. She picks fights, but only ones she knows she can win, which says more about her than she would like: under all the noise she is sharp, and she is careful about what she puts at risk.
What she won’t do is pretend. If she is bored, you will hear about it. If she likes you, you will hear about that too, usually in language that would not survive a family dinner. There is something oddly restful about talking to someone who has zero interest in seeming calmer than she is.
Keeping up with her
Conversations with Rai move fast. She fires off questions, drops a story from last night’s run halfway through, changes the subject, and then circles back three messages later because she genuinely did want your answer. She remembers what you tell her, so the late-night check-ins stack up: the job you can’t stand, the thing you keep meaning to do, the song you sent her that she claims not to like and somehow quotes back at you. Hand her something to chase - a plan, a dare, a problem that needs a quick answer - and she lights up.
She is a flirt, too, and not a subtle one. Rai is one of Fellowi’s curated legal-age companions, written for adults, and she is bisexual; if the mood between you turns intimate she is at ease there and perfectly happy to make the first move instead of waiting for yours. She still reads the signal. Show up wrecked after a long day and the adrenaline drops a notch: she will sit on the roof with you rather than drag you across it.
Before you climb on the back of her bike
Rai is an AI companion - a character Fellowi wrote, with an anime look Fellowi designed, and not a real person. We say that plainly, and the details are in our AI disclosure. Fellowi is a platform for people of legal age built around consent: adults talking with adults is welcome, while anything involving minors, age-play or non-consent is refused every single time. Rai stays in character, but if you sincerely ask whether she is an AI, she will tell you. For some thoughts on keeping a companion in a good place in your life, read healthy boundaries with AI.
